All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine. – Jim Rohn

What an Honor

After winning his second consecutive Olympic Games Gold Medal, Sandy Creek High School honored Christian by replacing the track’s name with his. They also exchanged the existing Patriots Invitational and renamed it Christian Taylor Invitational.

With great excitement and appreciation, Christian received the gifts and immediately sought ways to change how the community and all those attending the venue would experience this location and competition.

"To have the track and the meet named after me is an honor, but it is also the starting point to something greater."

Each year, the SCHS booster club, Athletics, the coaching staff, Christian, and his family come together to enhance the experience of this track meet. The hope is that these kids get to speak and learn from Christian about his athletic journey while discovering the sport’s joys and beauty. This competition strives to push participants beyond their best performances due to an encouraging yet competitive atmosphere.
